How Do We Get Proper Measurements for Wooden Doors In London?
Before you have new doors installed it is crucial that you have your wooden doors measured by a professional, precisely and accurately. If the door hasn't been measured properly and the measurements are incorrect, the new door won't be able to open or close.
Professional contractors follow a specific set of steps when they take measurements.
These are the steps that our professional contractors will take to find the measurements of your door opening measurement, this is used as a reference point, when replacing doors.
Firstly they measure horizontally, across the door width, taking 3 measurements: one at the top, one in the middle and one at the bottom. The smallest measurement of the 3 is the reference measurement of your opening width.
Then they will take vertical measurements to determine the height: one in the middle of the door, one to the left and one to the right. As before the smallest measurement is used as the reference measurement.
Finally they will measure, with the door open, the distance from the outer frame to the inside from frame to frame. They will repeat this several times along the door frame and take the smallest measurement, as before, for the reference measurement.
Using these rough measurements, you will be able to see which door styles will match your size requirements. It is important to always get a professional to come and measure your doors so that you can be confident that the measurements are correct and the door will fit.

CLEANING TIPS FOR WOODEN DOORS AND WINDOWS
Cleaning your wooden doors and windows in the right way can help keep them looking their best whilst prolonging their lifespan. To start with, you will need a mild detergent, warm water, and a soft cloth.Apply the solution to the wood and gently wipe away any dirt and dust that has built up, taking care to wring out the cloth frequently. After this, be sure to dry the wood with a separate cloth to prevent any water damage. This process should be repeated at least twice a year.
